Hi, I’m Sammy! I LOVE working with first-time homebuyers and helping people think outside the box in a market like Los Angeles, where many people are priced out of their dream home. Honestly, I wish someone had explained the home-buying process to me earlier, as I never thought I was “ready” due to misconceptions about real estate in general. Once I understood what goes into a real estate transaction, I realized there was a lot I could be doing to prepare before ever even making an offer! I’m an educator at heart and want to demystify this process for my community.
In this workshop you’ll learn the basics of financial wellness, specifically as it relates to homeownership and building generational wealth. We’ll go over aligning your finances and paying off debt, going through the mortgage pre-approval process and how to qualify for first-time homebuyer grants. We’ll also review the homebuying process, including shopping for a home and opening escrow, and then finish with what happens next: protecting your assets with estate planning and saving for retirement.
Open to all ages, and in all stages of life, this workshop will get you the basic language you need to get started on your financial wellness journey, when YOU are ready to take action!

Everyone who attends will receive a free 1:1 consult with Sammy gifted to them, that they can take advantage of at any time after the workshop. Attendees will not be required to disclose any personal information during the workshop nor will they be required to use

Sammy Lyon is a real estate broker for residential and commercial projects in Los Angeles. Sammy brings over a decade of experience in project management to the field of real estate and loves collaborating with others to think outside the box. Sammy holds an M.A. in Education, Leadership & Change from Antioch University and spent 10+ years leading innovative education programs at schools and non-profits. Once becoming — let’s face it, obsessed — with real estate, Sammy earned a certificate in Construction Project Management from CSU-Dominguez Hills, started working in affordable housing and commercial development, and became a licensed real estate broker to help more people become homeowners and build generational wealth. Sammy loves helping people think creatively about earning income from real estate, and also commits 5% of all gross profits from real estate to social and racial justice causes.
