This 90-minute workshop is designed to help trans men enhance their digital and physical well-being in today’s complex world. Participants will learn how to secure their devices and online accounts using privacy tools like VPNs and encrypted messaging apps. The workshop also covers physical safety techniques, including situational awareness, de-escalation, and securing home and work environments. Additionally, attendees will create personalized emergency plans, including go-bags with essentials like IDs, medications, and gender-affirming items. This is a valuable opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of preparedness in a supportive, affirming space.

Your Hosts:

Dr. Safi Mojidi is not your typical cybersecurity expert. With a doctorate in the field and nearly two decades of experience, he’s a force to be reckoned with. But it's not just his technical expertise that sets him apart. Dr. Mojidi possesses a rare blend of intellect and empathy, understanding that cybersecurity is not only about firewalls and algorithms—it's about people.

A champion for the marginalized and a voice for the digitally invisible, he advocates for those often overlooked in cyberspace. His work prioritizes the digital trust needs of those excluded from technology, recognizing that true security is built on inclusivity.

Dr. Mojidi’s expertise isn’t confined to the ivory tower. He has applied his global security operations strategies to a wide range of organizations, including multinational corporations, startups, federal agencies, local governments, and educational institutions.

But his vision extends beyond the boardroom. A fervent believer in the power of community and servant leadership, Dr. Mojidi is a vocal advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the cybersecurity field. He founded Hacking the Workforce, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented professionals through exposure, experience, and opportunity. His passion is palpable, and his commitment unwavering. Dr. Mojidi isn’t just securing systems—he’s securing futures.

Alex is a Security Engineer & Teacher. His core belief when it comes to security is "solid defenses come first, but to truly win, we must meet swords with swords—and think like the enemy." He is a champion for readiness for the new frontier of warfare: cyberspace. He firmly believes that trans people are the original, true hackers—pioneers of resilience, adaptability, and transformation. By redefining societal norms and breaking through rigid constructs, they embody the hacker ethos: questioning systems, reimagining possibilities, and rewriting the rules to create authentic, self-defined lives. Their ability to navigate and thrive within challenging, often adversarial environments reflects the creativity and determination at the heart of hacking itself.
