In a time of widespread fear and uncertainty, many of us are left wondering what the future holds for trans men in America. Join us for a virtual event featuring a panel of leading experts who will come together for an open, community-led discussion to address our biggest questions about what lies ahead in 2025 and beyond—for ourselves and our communities. Let’s unite to learn, share, and explore practical strategies and healthy coping mechanisms to help us move forward safely and confidently. Our incredible lineup of experts will guide us through the pressing “What now?” moments in a panel discussion, followed by an open Q&A.

Rocco Kayiatos is an award-winning storyteller, media maker, and community builder. Known as the first openly FTM musician to release an album under the moniker Katastrophe, he later co-founded Original Plumbing Magazine, the first quarterly print magazine focused on trans male culture, which ran from 2009 to 2019. Since transitioning in 2001, he has been a vocal advocate and community builder for trans men. Most recently, he founded The Intentional Man Project and Camp Lost Boys (est. 2017), a summer camp/retreat experience for trans men 18+, designed to allow attendees to form deeper connections to Self and their brothers. He is an experienced marketing leader with content, brand, and community-building expertise, having led teams at FOLX Health, Grindr, and BuzzFeed.

Our esteemed panel of experts: 

Harper Seldin is a senior staff attorney at the ACLU LGBTQ & HIV Project. Before joining the ACLU, Harper practiced at Cozen O’Connor, where he was a partner in the firm’s commercial litigation department. Along with his pro bono work for transgender rights, including serving as co-counsel in Doe v. Boyertown Area School District, Harper represented large technology clients in state and federal court, both at trial and on appeal. In 2021, he was named one of the “Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40” by the LGBT Bar Association. Harper also served as a federal  judicial law clerk . Harper received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and holds a BA in American History from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts & Sciences.

Dr. Jamison Green, Ph.D. (Law), M.F.A. (English), is the author of Becoming A Visible Man (2020/2004) and co-editor/author of A History of Transgender Medicine in the United States: From Margins to Mainstream (Feb. 2025). He led FTM International from 1991-1999 and served on the World Professional Association for Transgender Health  (WPATH) board of directors from 2003-2018, presiding from 2014-2016. He now serves on the board of directors of The Intentional Man Project and Gender Research Advisory Council and Education (GRACE). Among many awards, he has been honored with the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association's Frank Kameny Award, the Association of Gay & Lesbian Psychiatrists' Distinguished Service Award, and the WPATH Gold Medal.

Dr. Jose Miguel Cruz, DNP, APRN-CNP, PMHNP is a queer trans man, board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner who focuses on providing trauma-informed psychiatric and mental health support to LGBTQ+ youth (ages 6-24) and their families. His treatment approach to mental health is holistic, and he specializes in functional and integrative mental health. His doctoral work focused on the psychological trauma of racism and utilizing trauma-informed interventions to provide culturally responsive care. Jose has provided education and consultations to medical and mental health providers, organizations, and government agencies in OR, WA, KY, OH, and NC on enhancing trans and gender affirming care. 

Dr. Asa Radix, Dr. Asa Radix is a board-certified internist and infectious disease specialist at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, where he serves as Executive Vice President of Research and Education. Originally from the West Indies, Asa completed postgraduate medical training at the University of Connecticut and a PhD in epidemiology at Columbia University. Asa’s work focuses on transgender health, HIV, and STI prevention, with an emphasis on healthcare disparities and culturally competent care models. Asa co-chaired the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care version 8 and currently serves as the WPATH president. He has received numerous awards, including the New York State AIDS Institute’s Dr. Linda Laubenstein HIV Clinical Excellence Award and the WPATH Gold Medal for contributions to global transgender health.

Willy Wilkinson, MPH is an award-winning author, public health consultant, cultural competency trainer, and public speaker who has been advocating for marginalized populations since the early days of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. He is the author of the Lambda Literary Award-winning book Born on the Edge of Race and Gender: A Voice for Cultural Competency, which illuminates trans experience from a Chinese American and mixed heritage perspective, and transforms the memoir genre into a cultural competency tool. Willy penned Gender Splendor: 50 Creative Sparks to Celebrate Yourself at All Ages and Stages to support community well-being. He launched the first trans healthcare access program in the nation and the first program for trans men who have sex with other men, organized the first support groups for transmasculine people of color, and founded API TransFusion, the first retreat for Asian and Pacific Islander transmasculine people. Willy is the recipient of an Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists Excellence in Journalism Award, and the Transgender Law Center Vanguard Award. www.willywilkinson.com.

Dr. Shawn V. Giammattei, is a clinical family psychologist in private practice in Northern CA and the Associate Director of Mental Health for the Child and Adolescent Gender Center at UCSF, Benioff Children’s Hospital. He is the founder & CEO of the Gender Health Training Institute, the TransFamily Alliance, and Quest Family Therapy. He specializes in family therapy with couples, families, and individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive youth and their families. He is a GEI SOC8 certified Mentor for the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and is on faculty for their Global Education Institute. He is also a trans-health researcher, author, international speaker, and professor teaching graduate and post-graduate courses in LGBTQ psychology and family systems. He is an advisory member of Mind the Gap, a group dedicated to gender-affirming care for trans youth and their families, a past officer and board member of the American Family Therapy Academy, past president and treasurer of the Association of Family Therapists of Northern California, and the author of several articles and book chapters on gender, sexuality, and family work.
